The other protected, overridable methods only provide boolean values to the base class: "shouldSplitIterableReply()" (which is FALSE by default, but TRUE for Splitter) and "shouldCopyRequestHeaders()" (which is TRUE by default, but FALSE for Transformer and Filter).

INT-1227 removed the protected getOutputChannel() method from AbstractReplyProducingMessageHandler. BridgeHandler no longer asserts an output channel in order to throw an Exception. Instead, a ChannelResolutionException is thrown in the normal place for a missing outputChannel property or replyChannel header in the AbstractReplyProducingMessageHandler.

INT-1180 Added a 'requiresReply' header. The default value is FALSE, but Gateway request Messages now have this value set to true whenever the invoked method has a non-void return.
