Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/3839
* Create a new base interface for Mongo container-based tests
* Migrate all tests to JUnit5
* Remove obsolete classes related to JUnit4 Mongo rule
* Fix code style & readability here and there, a few Sonar issues
* Fix failing test `validateWithConfiguredPollerFlow`
* * This test was failing with Mongo error
`$and/$or/$nor must be a nonempty array`. The cause was too small
polling ratio of the update query, the consecutive read queries
failed as no 'Oleg' document was in collection after ~100 ms.
Couple of changes after the pull request review:
* Get back the blank lines in test classes
* Get back the blank lines for some inner classes
* Eliminate bad renaming consequences
* Remove a couple of garbage todos
* Couple of places with code cleanup
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/3623
* `IntegrationFlow` refactoring
* Apply several code style improvements and good practices
* Code style: no empty lines for methods javadocs
* make deprecated implementation reuse actual one instead of the copy-paste approach
* add whats-new comments
* Fix whats-new page according to standards
* Upgrade Spring dependencies to the latest SNAPSHOTs
* Fix tests to verify against stack traces: the message
of the `NestedRuntimeException` does not include the nested exception information.
Related to https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-framework/issues/25162
* Fix `JdbcMessageStore` and `DefaultLockRepository` to rely on the `DataIntegrityViolationException`
instead of only its `DuplicateKeyException` extension.
This is the current behavior of the SQL errors translation
* Disable `WebFluxDslTests.testValidation()` - doesn't subscribe to the reply somehow...
* Refine `SimplePool.PoolSemaphore.reducePermits()`
Currently, the `MongoDbAvailableRule` logs a warning about missed availability
of the MongoDb server and returns from the `Statement.evaluate()` making the
test not ignored but as passed
* Fix the exception handling in the `MongoDbAvailableRule` for the `Statement`
to call `Assume.assumeTrue()` instead of the plain logging to mark the test as
ignored.
This will make a JUnit test report looking correctly and also will let Sonar Cube
to report test coverage as adequate

The latest changes in the `MappingMongoConverter` resolves the target type from the document.
That type is a `GenericMessage`.
The `GenericConversionService` doesn't match such a target type for the

* The `into()` query can't infer the type for entity if we provide `Object.class`
* The `updateFirst()` does not support sort queries any more - replace with `findAndModify()`
* Add `getMessageGroupCount()` into tests
**Cherry-pick to 5.3.x & 5.2.x**
* Remove redundant `@SuppressWarnings("deprecation")`
* Add `Duration.ofSeconds(10)` to `StepVerifier.verify()`
to avoid infinite wait and lose failing text context on the hang CI build
* Introduce a `ReceiveMessageAdvice`
* Deprecate an `AbstractMessageSourceAdvice` in favor of
`default` method in the `MessageSourceMutator`
* Move a `applyReceiveOnlyAdviceChain()` logic into the `AbstractPollingEndpoint`:
now both `PollingConsumer` and `SourcePollingChannelAdapter` can use
`ReceiveMessageAdvice`
* Introduce a `SimpleActiveIdleReceiveMessageAdvice` based already
on the `ReceiveMessageAdvice` and deprecate a `SimpleActiveIdleMessageSourceAdvice`
which is fully replaceable with newly introduced `SimpleActiveIdleReceiveMessageAdvice`
* Add `@SuppressWarnings("deprecation")` for those out-of-the-box `ReceiveMessageAdvice`
implementation which still use an `AbstractMessageSourceAdvice` for
backward compatibility
* Document a new feature and give the `MessageSourceMutator` a new meaning
* * Fix language in the `polling-consumer.adoc`
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/2788
* Introduce a `MessageProducerSupport.subscribeToPublisher(Publisher<Message<?>>)`

* Such a component is auto-stopped when subscription to that `Publisher` is canceled
* Implement a `MongoDbChangeStreamMessageProducer` based on the reactive support for
in Spring Data MongoDb
* Implement a Java DSL for `MongoDbChangeStreamMessageProducer`

* Gradle 6.1.1
* MongoDb 4.0
* Other Spring dependencies to `BUILD-SNAPSHOT`

* Rework `ReactiveMongoDbMessageSourceTests` to use new Java DSL for `ReactiveMongoDbMessageSource`
* Document changes
* Infrastructure for ReactiveMessageHandler
We have now a `ReactiveMongoDbStoringMessageHandler` which implements
a `ReactiveMessageHandler`, but not a `MessageHandler` for possible
deferred subscriptions to the returned Reactor type
We don't have a proper application context processing for this
new type of message handlers
* Change a `ConsumerEndpointFactoryBean` to apply an `MH` and `RMH`
as possible types for handler
* Introduce a `ReactiveMessageHandlerAdapter` to wrap an `RMH`
into a `MH` for synchronous calls in the regular consumer endpoints
* Wrap an `RMH` into a `ReactiveMessageHandlerAdapter` for regular
endpoints and unwrap for `ReactiveStreamsConsumer`
* Add `RMH`-based ctor into `ReactiveStreamsConsumer` for target
reactive streams composition (`flatMap()` on the `RMH`)
* Remove a `DelegatingSubscriber` from the `ReactiveStreamsConsumer`
in favor of direct calls from the `doOnSubscribe()`, `doOnComplete()`
& `doOnNext()`
* Add an `onErrorContinue()` to handle per-message errors, but don't
cancel the whole source `Publisher`
* Use `Disposable` from the `subscribe()` to cancel in the `stop()`
- recommended way in Reactor
* Use `onErrorContinue()` in the `FluxMessageChannel` instead of
`try..catch` in the `doOnNext()` - for possible `onErrorStop()`
in the provided upstream `Publisher`
* Handle `RMH` in the `ServiceActivatorFactoryBean` as a direct handler
as well with wrapping into `ReactiveMessageHandlerAdapter` for return.
The `ConsumerEndpointFactoryBean` extracts an `RMH` from the adapter
for the `ReactiveStreamsConsumer` anyway
* Add XML parsing test for `ReactiveMongoDbStoringMessageHandler`
* Add `log4j-slf4j-impl` for all the test runtime since `slf4j-api`
comes as a transitive dependency from many places
* * Fix conflicts after rebasing to master
* * Fix typo in warn message
* Change `Assert.state()` to `Assert.isTrue()`
for `ConsumerEndpointFactoryBean.setHandler()`
* * Fix `ConsumerEndpointFactoryBean` when reactive and no advice-chain
* Fix race condition in the
`ReactiveMongoDbStoringMessageHandlerTests.testReactiveMongoMessageHandlerFromApplicationContext()`
* * Handle `ReactiveMessageHandler` in Java DSL.
Essentially request a wrapping into `ReactiveMessageHandlerAdapter`.
Describe such a requirements in the `ReactiveMessageHandlerAdapter` JavaDocs
* Some Java DSL test polishing
* Add Java DSL for `ReactiveMongoDbStoringMessageHandler`
* Propagate missed `ApplicationContext` population into an internally
created `ReactiveMongoTemplate` in the `ReactiveMongoDbStoringMessageHandler`
* Remove Boon dependency and its usage
* Remove overloaded methods from the `IntegrationFlowDefinition`
- we can simply rely now on the super class
* Remove (or rework) deprecated entities in the docs
* Fix tests for removed deprecated APIs
* Rework affected tests to JUnit 5
* Bring Spring Data MongoDb back to `2.3`;
essentially rely on Spring Data BOM for dependencies
* Change `mongodb-driver-reactivestreams` driver version back to `1.12.0`
* Upgrade to Spring Security 5.3 M1
* Fix MongoDb module to use `MongoDbFactory` class instead of new (not committed yet)
`MongoDatabaseFactory`
* Remove `uuidRepresentation()` configuration from the `MongoClients` factory usage -
that is going to be MongoDb driver 4 feature
* Alongside with existing `springAmqpVersion` & `springVersion`
also expose `springDataVersion` & `springSecurityVersion`
project properties.
These can be used in external CI plans for compatibility builds
* Fix `IntegrationGraphServerTests` for the current state of graph -
The node name is now based on the endpoint id, not a `MH` bean name
* Fix MongoDB tests for compatibility with the latest driver
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4568
* Refactor `AbstractMessageHandler` and implement `MongodbReactiveMessageHandler`
* Rename `AbstractBaseMessageHandler` to `MessageHandlerSupport`
* Clean up code style and resolve possible Sonar smells
Mostly thanks to IDEA's plugin: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/10345-assertions2assertj
There is still a lot of work to do when complex and composite matchers are used.
* Add `awaitility` dependency and deprecate `EventuallyMatcher` in favor
of `awaitility`
* Remove Hamcrest from dependencies and disable JUnit & Hamcrest
static imports to encourage to use only AssertJ
* Migrate JUnit assumptions in rules to AssertJ's assumptions
* Deprecate some custom matchers in favor of existing in Hamcrest
after upgrading the last to version `2.1`
* Replace `ExpectedException` rules with `assertThatThrownBy()`
* Mention `MessagePredicate` in the `testing.adoc`
* Fix BeanFactory propagation for MMInvokerHelper
* Remove check for `null` in the
`MessagingMethodInvokerHelper.isProvidedMessageHandlerFactoryBean()`

`Recipient.selector`
* Fix tests for `BeanFactory` population and propagation
* Add `errorChannel` into the `TestUtils.createTestApplicationContext()`
* Fix some Sonar smell, including new reported
* * Restore NPE check for the `BeanFactory` in the
`MessagingMethodInvokerHelper` to avoid breaking changes in the current
point release
* Some other polishing and optimizations in the
`MessagingMethodInvokerHelper`
* INT-4570: Add MessageCollectionCallback for Mongo
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4570
The `MongoDbOutboundGateway` is intended to be used with the
`requestMessage` context, however using a plain `CollectionCallback`
we don't have access to the `requestMessage`
* Deprecate `CollectionCallback` usage in favor of newly introduced
`MessageCollectionCallback` and `message-collection-callback` for XML
**Cherry-pick to 5.0.x**
* * Remove `message-collection-callback` in favor of
`MessageCollectionCallback<T> extends CollectionCallback<T>`
* * Rename a new setter to `setMessageCollectionCallback()` to avoid
reflection collision
* Enable ModifierOrderCheck Checkstyle rule
* Fix violations for `static` and `abstract` modifier
* Remove redundant code in the `TcpNioConnection`
* Mark `connectionFactoryName` as `@Nullable` in the `TcpConnectionSupport`
ctor and its inheritors
* Fix some smells according IDEA suggestions in the affected classes
* This should fix some Sonar smells as well
* * Fix `HeaderMapperTests`
* * Polishing `TcpConnection` code style and fix Javdocs
Packages with `@Nullable` annotations need to have `@NonNulApi` at the package level.
There may be classes in these packages that have nullable arguments/returns that are
not currently marked as `@Nullable`. These will be fixed over time.
Also suppress JSR305 warnings when compiling tests.
* Polishing - PR Comments
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4390
Phase I: flow context/registration cycle
- extract interfaces
- rename implementations to `Standard...`
Phase II - dsl<->dsl.channel tangles
Move the channel specs to dsl.
Fix missing refactorings

- make `graph` a top-level package
(Not related to DSL) - move `IntegrationManagementConfigurer` from
`management` to `config` - tangle between core and management
* Polishing Copyrights, diamonds, some JavaDocs and What's New
* INT-4376: Upgage to Log4J 2
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4376
* Deprecate Log4J 1.x components in favor of newly added
a `Log4j2LevelAdjuster` JUnit `@Rule`
* Update all the logging configuration to Log4J 2
* Polishing after testing
The `PollableChannelPublisherAdapter` is based on the poll model of the
`FluxSink` and iterate and poll downstream `PollableChannel` until
there is an item or `n > 0`.
Having `take(6)` we end up with the cancel from the downstream
`Subscriber` after the batch is filled, but at the same time we continue
to poll the upstream source because `n` is like `Long.MAX_VALUE`.
* The proper way to interact is check for the `!sink.isCancelled()`
as well.
This way cancelled `sink` won't "steal" data from other subscribers
Fix compatibility with the latest dependencies
* Upgrade to Gradle 4.1
* Upgrade as much dependencies as possible
* Fix MongoDB module to resolve deprecation in the latest driver
* Increase receive timeout in the `ResequencerTests`
* Restore generic argument for the method reference in the `ReactiveStreamsTests`
* Fix `WebFluxInboundEndpoint` for the compatibility with the latest Reactor API
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4196
Add `CollectionCallback` option to the `MongoDbOutboundGateway`
Add XML support to CollectionCallback
Fix PR comments
Fix issue with javadoc parsing
* Polishing code style, JavaDocs and some Docs
Since we can have a result message in the `replyChannel` before the TX commit, a subsequent adapter `stop()` causes the current task interruption,
therefore TX rallback.
That's why we see `semaphore.acquire()` interruption and don't see message in the `afterCommitChannel`
**Cherry-pick to 4.3.x**
Change all the `BUILD-SNAPSHOT`s to their latest Milestones
Fix compatibility with those Milestones
Upgrade to Spring AMQP 2.0.0.M1
