Never got to the bottom of this, but the test failure with the dropped connection (EOF on socket) seems to go away if we use the Apache client instead of the JDK.

Run [source=groovy] -------- ./gradlew clean build -------- or -------- ./mvnw clean package -------- To - build the app - use spring-cloud-contract-stub-runner-spring[Stub Runner Spring] to download the stub of `Http Server` - run the tests against stubbed server
