* GH-3155: Add support for Java DSL extensions
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/3155
Provide an `IntegrationFlowExtension` for possible custom EI-operators
in the target project use-cases.
* * Move `IntegrationFlowExtension` tests ot its own test class
* Make all the `IntegrationComponentSpec` ctors as `protected` for possible custom extensions
* Make some `BaseIntegrationFlowDefinition` methods and properties as `protected` to get them
access from the `IntegrationFlowExtension` implementations
* Document the feature
* * Fix language and typos in docs
* * Add `protected` to one more `GatewayEndpointSpec` ctor
* Add JavaDocs to `GatewayEndpointSpec` methods
* * Add `protected` to one more `JmsPollableMessageChannelSpec` ctor
* Optimize logic in the `ExpressionEvaluatingParameterSourceFactory`
do not compute object if they are present in maps.
Plus extract some common code to the method
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/3132
It turns out that Checkstyle EmptyBlock doesn't complain about
empty default ctor.
Plus a new check for `super();` call treats it as a violation
* Remove `super();` from all the no-arg ctors
* Code style clean up in the affected classes according
IDEA suggestions
* Fix new Sonar smells
* Move `What's New` into `changes-5.1-5.2.adoc`
* Remove version from the `XSD` files:
1. Align with SF
2. The version for XSD doesn't matter for the current jar version,
since only the version is available in classpath is from the current
jar version
3. Modify `spring.schemas` to map all the possible versions for XSD
into the current one in a jar.
This way target applications can upgrade without changing the version
for XSD location and we don't need to require `versionless` variant
any more
4. The jar in classpath can handle only its own XSD, so independently
of version or no-version variants we still may fail because the current
jar may not support end-user code any more - need some fix over there
anyway.
* Remove `checkTestConfigs` Gradle task since we don't worry about XSD
version any more
* Modify `schemaZip` Gradle task to populate XSDs into a distribution
still with a version to avoid overriding on-line XSDs for version `1.0.x`.
We may consider not do that since SF doesn't and just bite a bullet
for always overriding those on-line XSDs to the actual one from the latest
release.
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/3061
Without a `@DirtiesContext` we keep not only a ctx in the cache, but
also an embedded DB instance, which is shared between contexts.
When ctx cache clean up happens, several ctxes would like to destroy
their associated embedded DB which, essentially, is the same in-memory
instance
* The `@DirtiesContext` give us a chance to destroy embedded DB for
the particular ctx in isolation
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/2987
To resolve XSD files properly from the classpath, their HTTPS reference
must be present in the `spring.schemas` to avoid the Internet interaction
for resolving an XSD file
**Cherry-pick to 5.1.x, 5.0.x & 4.3.x**
* Add `io.spring.nohttp` Gradle plugin into the build script and allow
it only on CI server, since it is going to parse every file
* Fix tests do not use `http` any more
* Fix `test.html` in the `mail` modules tests to exclude a Namespace for
OExchange XRD protocol
* Fix some files for new line in the end of file according Checkstyle
violations
* use equals
* inner assignment
* local before return
* unnecessary locals
* catch and throw
* uninstantiable with no statics
* implement `Serializable` in `Comparator` to enable `TreeMap` serialization
* exceptions as flow control
* Do not fix urls for the `http://apache.org/xml/features` when we
configure XML components
* Do not fix urls for localhost and fake links in tests
* Fix all the dead links in docs
* Fix new Sonar smells
* Fix some old Sonar smells as well
* Fix Micrometer leaks in the `PollableChannel` when we register
meters, but don't remove them.
* * Fix NPE around `MetricsCaptor` in channels
* * Fix new smells according test report
* * Further Sonar smell fixes
* * More smell fixes for `MessagingMethodInvokerHelper`
* Remove `throws Exception` from `AbstractMessageHandler.destroy()`
* * Fix complexity in the `MessagingMethodInvokerHelper.processInvokeExceptionAndFallbackToExpressionIfAny()`
Fixes https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-integration/issues/2760
* The `assertThatExceptionOfType()` is more convenient,
than `assertThatThrownBy`, so, replace all the usages accordingly
* Fix JavaDoc typo in the `AbstractScriptExecutingMessageProcessor`
* Fix Sonar smells for `throws Exception` in `AbstractScriptExecutingMessageProcessor`
hierarchy and some code polishing for them
* Use `IntegrationUtils.wrapInHandlingExceptionIfNecessary()` whenever
it is possible to avoid double wrapping into the `MessageHandlingException`
* Some code polishing for affected classes `@Nullable`, streams, diamonds etc.
Mostly thanks to IDEA's plugin: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/10345-assertions2assertj
There is still a lot of work to do when complex and composite matchers are used.
* Add `awaitility` dependency and deprecate `EventuallyMatcher` in favor
of `awaitility`
* Remove Hamcrest from dependencies and disable JUnit & Hamcrest
static imports to encourage to use only AssertJ
* Migrate JUnit assumptions in rules to AssertJ's assumptions
* Deprecate some custom matchers in favor of existing in Hamcrest
after upgrading the last to version `2.1`
* Replace `ExpectedException` rules with `assertThatThrownBy()`
* Mention `MessagePredicate` in the `testing.adoc`
* Upgrade to Gradle 5.2.1, SonarQube 2.7, asciidoctor 1.5.10,
Apache Sshd 2.2.0, AsertJ 3.12.0, Curator Framework 4.1.0, room Tool 1.12.0,
Checkstyle 8.17

* Enable ModifierOrderCheck Checkstyle rule
* Fix violations for `static` and `abstract` modifier
* Remove redundant code in the `TcpNioConnection`
* Mark `connectionFactoryName` as `@Nullable` in the `TcpConnectionSupport`
ctor and its inheritors
* Fix some smells according IDEA suggestions in the affected classes
* This should fix some Sonar smells as well
* * Fix `HeaderMapperTests`
* * Polishing `TcpConnection` code style and fix Javdocs
* Fix ambiguity in the `JpaExecutor`
Since we can't mutate a provided `ParameterSourceFactory` with the
provided `jpaParameters`, we have to reject such a combined
configuration in favor of the advice to configure params on the
provided `ParameterSourceFactory`
* Throw `IllegalStateException` when `ParameterSourceFactory` and
`jpaParameters` are configured together on the `JpaExecutor`
* Some refactoring for `JpaExecutor` to have a consistent code style
* Fix tests according new logic
* Document such an ambiguity configuration to avoid confusion
**Cherry-pick to 5.0.x**
* * Use `assertThatThrownBy()` in the `JpaExecutorTests`
* Fix "No BeanFactory" warning in the `JpaExecutorTests`
* * Resolve potential NPE and add `@NonNullApi` with `@Nullable` on the `poll()`
* Fix wrong import order in tests
* Polishing for not closed application contexts
* Use diamonds
* Use proper assertion operators
* Remove redundant classes
* Improve performance in JPA tests
* Fix typos
* Spring AMQP 2.1 B-S and fix imports for moved classes
* Reactor GA
* SF-5.1 B-S and exclude `org.springframework` from all the
Spring Security dependencies
* the latest Hibernate and JPA and fix the test query for the
appropriate actual syntax
* latest SSHD and add required dependency for `sshd-sftp`
* latest Groovy and extra dependency for the `groovy-dateutil`
* latest Smack for XMPP and appropriate code fixes for compatibility
* Fix `StompIntegrationTests` to use `AFTER_EACH_TEST_METHOD`:
when session is disconnected on the server, we can't interact with it
anymore
* INT-4381: MessageSources refactoring
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4381
* Make all the out-of-the-box `MessageSource` implementations based
on the `AbstractMessageSource`
* Fix `JdbcPollingChannelAdapterIntegrationTests` for sporadic failure
because of `fixed-rate` for the poller
* Fix HeaderEnricherTests race condition
The `errorChannel()` expect an error in the `testErrorChannel` after
`1000` ms, but at the same time the `poller` in configured for the
`3000` ms.
* Increase all the timeouts for replies
* Decrease a `fixed-delay` on the `poller`
* Some other code style polishing for the `HeaderEnricherTests`
* INT-4376: Upgage to Log4J 2
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4376

* Polishing after testing
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4325
When channel adapter is defined without `id` attribute, the
`JpaInboundChannelAdapterParser` generates the name for class which
bean is never registered, therefore all the `JpaExecutor`s are registered
with the same bean name and afterward all the `JpaPollingChannelAdapter`
without `id` share the same `JpaExecutor`
* Generate bean name based on the `SourcePollingChannelAdapterFactoryBean`
which is used eventually for real bean registration
* Add test config for several channel adapters without `id`
* Optimize the `JpaInboundChannelAdapterParserTests` to start
the context only once during test class initialization
**Cherry-pick to 4.3.x**
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4252
To allow to provide arbitrary bean names for the intermediate components
in the `IntegrationFlow` change `ComponentsRegistration` to return
a `Map<Object, String>` instead of raw `Collection<Object>`
* Use the value from that map in the `IntegrationFlowBeanPostProcessor` as a
fallback option before walking into bean name generation
* Provide `containerId` option for the AMQP DSL components
* Revert `@AfterClass` in the `AmqpTests`
* Expose `id()` for the `JmsDestinationAccessorSpec`
* Register `ListenerContainer` and `JmsTemplate`
as bean via `ComponentRegistration` in the particular JMS Java DSL components
* Fix `Jms` factory to populate the `JmsDefaultListenerContainerSpec`
for the `messageDrivenChannelAdapter()` without class specified
* Refactor AMQP DSL Inbound components to deal with the new ContainerSpec API
* Remove `containerId()` in favor of `id()` in the ContainerSpec
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4244
The `JpaOutboundGateway` returns a whole `Message` for reply copying request headers.
Building the reply a `AbstractMessageProducingHandler` uses `MessageBuilder` to create a new `Message` with all request headers because of `shouldCopyRequestHeaders() == true`
* To avoid some overhead with new `Message` and `MessageBuilder` for nothing, just return a JPA result as is and let super class to build the Message
* Optimize all reply producers to return `MessageBuilder` to the super `handleMessage()` process
* Return the whole `gatherResult` `Message<?>` from the `ScatterGatherHandler` to have ability to transfer reply headers as well
* Mark `DelayHandler` as `shouldCopyRequestHeaders() return false` since it doesn't modify Message and returns it as is after delay
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4018
* Resolve some TODOs as expected
* Remove some as logically or physically with useless effort
* Leave others for future considerations
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4221
* Upgrade to those versions of Spring project dependencies which potentially will provide similar fix
**Cherry-pick to 4.3.x**
https://build.spring.io/browse/INT-FATS5IC-22/
Since some version after Hibernate 5.1 they support positional parameters in the `Query` starting from `0` index, therefore we don't need `-1` logic in the `DefaultJpaOperations` any more.
Also fix typos
JIRA: https://jira.spring.io/browse/INT-4174
I considered just using the channel counter but I suppose there is a (small) possibility
that someone might possibly use a custom dispatcher and subscribe to it directly.
Polishing -- ** master only **
Eliminate conditional logic in AbstractMessageChannel by adding getHandlerCount() to
MessageDispatcher.
Do not cherry pick.
* Also fix JPA tests model for proper database `sequence` to avoid race condition when the test data is inserted with lower `id` than expected predefined data has
